Los Vaqueros Reservoir & Watershed
9990 Los Vaqueros Rd, Brentwood, CA
Los Vaqueros Reservoir and Watershed is a public recreation area managed by the Contra Costa Water District east of Brentwood, built around a reservoir with more than 60 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. The watershed has two staffed entrances, a marina offering boat rentals, courtesy fishing docks, picnic areas, and staging areas, and it is open year-round for day use.
The reservoir draws a steady mix of hikers, anglers, and cyclists from across the East Bay, and its network of ridge and valley roads makes it a scenic detour for riders passing through the Diablo Range foothills. A day-use parking fee applies at the gate, and pets other than service animals are not permitted in the watershed.
