Lower Jones Valley Campground, Shasta-Trinity National Forest

Lower Jones Valley Campground is a small Shasta-Trinity National Forest campground on the Pit River arm of Shasta Lake, about nine miles east of Shasta Lake City. It has nine single sites and two double sites with paved parking spurs, tent pads, raised fire rings, bear boxes, and picnic tables, along with vault toilets and potable water, and it operates on a first come, first served basis. The drive in follows Bear Mountain Road and Dry Creek Road through forested hill country, and the nearby Jones Valley boat ramp and Clickipudi Trail give visitors access to the lake for boating and hiking. Riders exploring the backroads around Shasta Lake can use it as a quiet, low-key overnight base away from the busier lakefront resorts.
