Lumsden Bridge Campground

Spur Rd 1S52, Groveland, CA

Lumsden Bridge Campground is a small Stanislaus National Forest campground on the Tuolumne Wild and Scenic River, reached via the steep, unpaved Lumsden Road off Highway 120 near Groveland. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit, with a vault toilet on-site and untreated river water available if treated before drinking; RVs and trailers are not recommended on the access road. Lumsden Road was closed for more than three years after storm damage in 2023, and the Forest Service reopened it in May 2026 after a $1.45 million repair project, restoring access to the Lumsden recreation area's campgrounds and the Meral's Pool rafting put-in. The campground typically operates seasonally from May through September and remains closed in winter months, so travelers should check current forest conditions before heading in.
