Lumsden Campground
NF-1N10, Groveland, CA
Lumsden Campground is a primitive tent campground managed by the Stanislaus National Forest, reached via Lumsden Road, Forest Route 1N10, off Ferretti Road near Groveland, California. It sits along the Tuolumne Wild and Scenic River corridor, and the access road is narrow and not recommended for RVs or trailers.
The campground operates seasonally, since Lumsden Road closes each winter from mid-December through mid-April and can see additional closures for storm damage or maintenance; the Forest Service reopened the road in May 2026. It sits near the smaller Lumsden Bridge and South Fork campgrounds, which together form a cluster of primitive, river-adjacent sites in the Tuolumne-Lumsden Recreation Area.
