Lyons Reservoir (PG&E) Day Use
Forest Rd 3N14 - Lyons Lake Rd (PGE), Twain Harte, CA
Lyons Reservoir PG&E Day Use is a fishing and picnic area in the Stanislaus National Forest, on a Pacific Gas and Electric reservoir about two miles off Highway 108 near Twain Harte, California. The reservoir was formed by a dam built in 1930 to supply municipal water to the Twain Harte area, and a two-mile dirt access road leads down to the parking area.
The site supports day fishing, picnicking, and hiking or horseback riding on the former Sugar Pine Railroad grade toward Fraser Flat and Strawberry, but it does not allow swimming or overnight stays. It sits at about 4,200 feet elevation and is only accessible from May 1 through November 1, when the main gate off Highway 108 is open.
