Milonga Room

Milonga Room is an underground speakeasy tucked beneath Buenos Aires Cafe on East 6th Street in Austin, opened in 2016 and built around memories of historic Buenos Aires. Red velvet upholstered seating, restored vintage furnishings, and collectibles brought in from the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires give the room an old world feel that is distinct from the rest of East 6th Street. The cocktail program centers on Amaro, the bittersweet Italian and Argentine liqueurs, and the kitchen serves tapas and light Argentinian fare during bar hours. The room has its own bar, an independent entrance, and a private powder room, and it is closed Monday and Tuesday, opening Wednesday through Saturday evenings for anyone looking for a quieter alternative to the open bars along East 6th.
