Mineral Bar Campgrounds

Mineral Bar Campground is a California State Parks campground within the Auburn State Recreation Area, set along the North Fork of the American River near Colfax. It sits off Iowa Hill Road, reached via a paved road that descends about three miles from town to the riverside sites, with views of the historic Iowa Hill Bridge. The campground offers 15 sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and pit toilets, though no drinking water is provided on site. From mid-May through mid-September reservations are required through ReserveCalifornia, while sites are first-come, first-served the rest of the year, dropping to six sites in winter. Dogs are permitted, and the nightly fee is $28.
