Mister Tramps Sports Pub has anchored a stretch of Research Boulevard in north Austin since 2009, opened by owners who grew up in Scotland and wanted a neighborhood pub where people actually stopped by to catch up rather than just texting. That background shows up most clearly on match days, when the bar opens early for Premier League soccer and fills with regulars watching the US national team and top European clubs on the wall of screens. Beyond soccer, it runs as a straightforward sports bar with cheap drinks, bar food, and more than thirty beers on tap, open daily from late morning into the early hours. The pub also has a private meeting room at no extra charge, built out with large widescreens and its own sound system, which local groups use for watch parties and get-togethers outside of normal match schedules.
