Moontower Cider Company

Moontower Cider Company occupies a converted former mortuary on Tillery Street in East Austin, now working as a production cidery and tasting room for a traditionally inspired craft cider maker. The building's past gives the space an unusual, slightly gothic character that stands out from the typical brewery-taproom look found elsewhere in Austin. Inside, the tasting room holds up to seventy people standing or fifty seated, with an outdoor patio adding room for another fifty, and the space doubles as a rental venue for private events. Moontower pours a rotating lineup of ciders alongside non-alcoholic options, and it allows outside food, so riders can bring in a meal from nearby East Austin spots. It is closed Monday and Tuesday and open from early afternoon into the evening Wednesday through Saturday.
