New Shady Rest Campground

New Shady Rest Campground is a U.S. Forest Service campground in the Mammoth Ranger District of Inyo National Forest, reached via Old Sawmill Road near Mammoth Lakes, California, at roughly 7,796 feet elevation. It offers 97 mixed-use sites for tents, trailers and RVs, with 80 reservable and 17 first-come, first-served.
Facilities include restrooms with flush toilets, campfire rings, picnic tables and bear-proof food lockers, with firewood available for purchase on-site; showers are not provided but are available nearby in town. The campground normally operates from late May through early September, with rates starting at $28 per night.
