Outer Rim is a lounge located on the fourth floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, adjacent to Chef Mickey's and commanding a view of Bay Lake. The venue is open to the general public without requiring theme park admission—anyone can access the resort and ascend to the lounge's windows overlooking the lake and, overhead, the monorail track that connects the resort to the Magic Kingdom. The drink menu features craft cocktails including the Spicy Poblano Margarita, Chocolate Martini, Kentucky Mule, and signature bourbon selections, alongside beer, wine, and ciders, each designed to take advantage of the vantage point. The space is defined by its seating arrangement—walk-up service with first-come, first-served seating that may fill during peak evening hours but generally accommodates guests seeking a more adult-focused venue. The monorail passing overhead adds to the resort architecture itself as part of the bar's ambiance, making Outer Rim less a destination in itself and more an interlude for resort visitors seeking a drink with a view.
