Peninsula Campgrounds

Peninsula Campground is a California State Parks campground within Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, on the east side of Folsom Lake between the north and south forks of the American River near Pilot Hill. It has 100 campsites, including 34 tent-only sites, with the remainder open to RVs, trailers, and tents, though motorhomes over 24 feet and trailers over 18 feet are not advised. The campground has flush toilets, piped drinking water, coin-operated showers, and two boat launch ramps near a day-use area. Access is via an 11-mile stretch of narrow, winding Rattlesnake Bar Road off Highway 49, and when lake levels are high the campground is popular with boaters, hikers, and anglers.
