Scholz Garten

Scholz Garten is a historic beer garden and restaurant at 1607 San Jacinto Blvd in Austin, opened by August Scholz in 1866 and recognized as one of the oldest continuously operating businesses in Texas. It began as a saloon and beer garden serving the city's German community. The menu leans on German classics like bratwurst, wienerschnitzel and pretzels, backed by more than 20 German beers on draft alongside Texas fare. Its downtown location near the Capitol and UT campus makes it an easy, historic stop for riders passing through central Austin.
