While the campsites lack individual electrical hookups, the facility includes communal water access and a central bathhouse with hot showers and accessible restrooms. The grounds are set among xeric hammocks and towering pines, preserving the natural character of historic ship canal diggings from the 1930s.

The site is managed year-round with on-site hosts, providing a well-maintained base for outdoor exploration in Marion County.
