Sign Bar

Sign Bar is a large East Austin bar built around owner Matt Luckie's decades-long collection of vintage, salvaged signs from shuttered Austin bars and restaurants. Located at 9909 FM 969, the venue folds that collected signage into its decor as a running tribute to the city's disappearing bar history. With a capacity of around 600, Sign Bar hosts private parties and events alongside regular bar service, and each winter puts up a large illuminated tree installation modeled on Austin's Zilker Holiday Tree. It's a large-format stop on the FM 969 corridor east of downtown, more suited to a group visit or event than a quick solo pull-in.
