Staggered Formation
Staggered formation is a group riding arrangement where riders alternate sides of the lane, each offset behind the one ahead.
[VERIFY] What is staggered formation? Staggered formation is the standard way a group of riders arranges itself on a straight road: the leader toward one side of the lane, the next rider offset toward the other side and further back, and so on down the group. It keeps the group compact while leaving every rider space ahead and to the side. Groups normally move to single file for curves, narrow roads, and poor conditions. Recommended spacing is expressed in following-time terms by rider-training programmes; use the guidance from your own course or ride briefing.
