The North Door

The North Door is a live-event venue at 908 East 5th Street in Austin's Lower East neighborhood, having risen out of the space left by the 1990s club Electric Lounge. It built its reputation on an eclectic booking policy that mixes experimental jazz and alternative rock with hip-hop and electronica. Beyond music, the venue hosts plays, poetry readings, comedy shows, TV watch parties, and games nights, essentially anything that fits under its roof and can carry a cover charge. It closed for nearly six months during the COVID-19 pandemic before reopening in a retail space at the same East 5th Street address.
