The Royale Room

The Royale Room is a seventies-inspired cocktail lounge on the ground floor of the Thompson Hotel at 506 San Jacinto Boulevard in downtown Austin, next to the Fifth Street Diner. The bar centers on ice-cold martinis and a raw bar of oysters, backed by a short food menu of larger plates like burgers and steak frites. It runs live music through the week and keeps a compact schedule, closed Sundays and Mondays and open evenings only the rest of the week, so it functions more as a downtown after-dark stop than an all-day bar for riders passing through.
