The Wheel South

The Wheel South is the second location of East Austin's bicycle-themed bar The Wheel, opened on South Congress Avenue in South Austin in a space that previously housed Crow Bar before a fire led to its demolition. It is run by FBR Management, the same hospitality group behind several other Austin bars including Lala's Little Nugget and Mean-Eyed Cat, and mirrors the original location's cocktail menu while adding its own curated draft and package beer list. The bar has both indoor and outdoor patio seating, and Side Eye Pie operates a second location on site serving pizza, wings, and sandwiches alongside the drinks. It gives riders touring South Congress a second, standalone stop under the same brand as the East Austin original rather than a satellite of it.
