The Extraterrestrial Highway on Nevada State Route 375 spans 155 miles from Ash Springs north through Rachel to Tonopah. The highway features some sweeping curves and plenty of straight stretches through open desert terrain with very minimal traffic. Gas up before leaving Ash Springs; Rachel is the only town along the way, though it reportedly has no fuel station.
The next reliable gas station is in Tonopah, 150 miles away from Rachel. You will need a range of at least 170 miles to make this trip comfortably or carry gas with you.
The ride passes near the secretive Area 51, part of an Air Force base, old ghost towns, historic mines, and the Mount Irish petroglyphs. The isolation and desert setting make this one of Nevada's most unique motorcycle experiences.
