The Red Rock Canyon Scenic Loop follows Nevada Route 159 for 12 miles through the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, located 17 miles west of Las Vegas. The one-way loop road provides vehicle access to many features in the 100,000-acre area, with an entry fee of $10 per motorcycle required. The road features smooth well-maintained pavement with some minor twisties, beginning with a moderate climb, then mostly downhill or flat afterward. The loop takes about 45 minutes without stopping, but most visitors spend two to three hours with stops at overlooks and trailheads. The walls are up to 3,000 feet high, making them a popular hiking and rock climbing destination. The road features technical turns as well as some great sweepers, with a low posted speed limit that allows riders to absorb the fantastic mountain desert scenery.
