The Flaming Gorge Tour is a 75-mile route exploring the remote northeastern Utah landscape around Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Starting from Vernal, the route rides north on Highway 191 for 35 miles, then turns east for 6 more miles to the Flaming Gorge Dam, before returning via Manila for 28 miles back to the starting point. The tour passes through diverse terrain, starting in Dinosaur land Utah with red stone formations and transitioning to the Uintah mountain range featuring aspen and ponderosa pine forests. Road condition is excellent throughout, with steep tight mountain-side switchbacks alternating with long rolling straits. Riders should prepare for cold temperatures at higher elevations, especially during spring and fall.
