Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway (UT-128)

The Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway follows UT-128 for 44 miles from downtown Moab northeastward to I-70, serving as the preferred route into Moab from the interstate. The journey starts across open desert with a few sweeping curves, gradually transitioning to considerably sharper turns as riders reach the Colorado River. The 44-mile trek meanders alongside the Colorado River, mesmerizing riders with views of the otherworldly Fisher Towers, iconic red sandstone cliffs, and the snowy La Sal Mountains. The route is fully paved and well-maintained, offering jaw-dropping scenery including beautiful picnic areas, a variety of hiking trails including one to Fisher Towers, and historical points of interest. The road transitions from high desert sweepers to more technical river-canyon curves, providing varied riding experiences.
