The route offers views of the Appalachian Trail corridor and Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. Access to the area is from I-81 at Marion (Route 16 south for 33 miles), with the park entrance on US-58 eight miles further. The riding combines technical mountain sections with scenic beauty and access to high-elevation trails and outdoor recreation.
