VA Route 39 - Goshen Pass to West Virginia

VA Route 39 stretches westward from Lexington through spectacular Appalachian terrain for nearly 60 miles to the West Virginia border. From Warm Springs, the road follows the Maury River through Goshen Pass, a tight and winding section flanked by rocky cliffs and river rapids. The route showcases steep mountains and plunging gorges with spectacular scenery viewable directly from the roadway, including waterways and countless acres of woods providing a natural canopy for the ride. Continuing into West Virginia, Route 39 extends over 100 miles to Minnehaha Springs, featuring a nice balance of sweepers, tight turns and elevation changes through the Monongahela and George Washington forests.
