Aufderheide Memorial Drive follows Forest Road 19 northbound for approximately 65 miles from Westfir through the Willamette National Forest, passing Cougar Dam before ending near Blue River. The scenic corridor features old-growth Douglas firs, beautiful rivers, and amazing vistas. Lots of twists and great turns make the route great for cruisers or sport bikes. Tight hairpin turns challenge riders throughout. Some sections feature a few 12-foot wide spots of gravel that warrant caution. There is no cell phone coverage in sections of this route. Oakridge nearby has hotels and restaurants. Camping, hiking, and swimming opportunities exist along Forest Road 19. Terwilliger hot spring is a notable attraction. The route works well for both motorcycle types, though gravel patches on the Oakridge side require attention. Pavement transitions from asphalt to rougher sections.
