Bellingham's Mt Baker Road

Starting from Bellingham via WA Route 542, this 57-mile route progresses through fair scenery initially that improves significantly after Deming. Long sweeping high-speed curves continue through Maple Falls and Glacier for about 30 miles, then transition to lots of hairpins and great scenery during the final 15-mile mountain climb to Mt Baker base. The Mt Baker summit parking lot offers scenic views of Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan. Fuel stops include gas stations at Nooksack, Deming, the Highway 9/542 junction, Maple Falls, and Glacier.
