Chinook Pass (Route 410) is a 95-mile journey beginning in Greenwater near Mt Rainier, following winding forest roads alongside the White River before ascending through Chinook Pass (5,430 feet) with incredible views of rivers, lakes, wildlife, and the Cascades. The route tosses some curves at riders while ascending, notably a triple-S curve climbing to the summit, though nothing terribly difficult overall. After cresting the pass, the route descends into the Yakima Valley alongside the Naches River, ending just past where Highway 410 ends into US 12 in Naches. Speed limits are 55-60 mph through most of the trip. Greenwater offers a pub, restaurant, convenience store, and gas station; Naches has gas stations and The Woodshed restaurant with local wines. The scenery showcases Mt Rainier views and forest coverage.
